Globe rocks Klawervlei Farm Sale Stakes

Author: admin

Sean and his horses dominated the finish to the inaugural Klawervlei Farm Sale Stakes, run over 1250m at Durbanville on Saturday.
The well-related Rock The Globe confirmed the promise he had shown on debut (the colt had run on smartly for second at Kenilworth when beating some well bred two-year-olds) when powering home under jockey Aldo Domeyer to land Saturday’s R225 000 race.

His stable mate Immeasurable, second to the exciting Captain Of Stealth at his only previous start, also put up a good showing, when, after making much of the running, he stayed on to claim second spot.

However, the race belonged to Rock The Globe, who produced a smart turn of foot to win a good race, going away, by two and a half lengths.

Aldo raved about the win in the post-race interview, saying, "I really think he is the real deal, he is a horse with a lovely action."

The Klawervlei Stud bred colt, a R25 000 buy from last year’s Klawervlei Farm Sale, races for Chris Van Niekerk in partnership with the Sham family.

A son of Seventh Rock, Rock The Globe is out of stakes placed Al Mufti mare Pacific Lights, which makes him a half-brother to ill-fated CTS Million Dollar winner Illuminator.

It was a great way to end another successful Cape season.

Well done to the team in Cape Town, headed by Monique Mansour, who have done a great job this season.
