The Tarry Yard enjoyed good success at the recent National Yearling Sale, and it is pleasing to note that the yard will be joined by some exceptionally well-bred prospects soon.

Lot 2: f Buffalo Bill Cody -Eliza Doolittle
By the same sire as star sprinter Buffalo Storm Cody among others, this filly is a half-sister to G2 Epol Umkhomazi Stakes winner Swing Upon A Star and G3 Lonsdale Stirrup Cup runner up Flying Bull. This filly is from the same family as the yard’s G1 winner Sweet Pepper as well as recent G1 HKJC World Pool Premier’s Champions Challenge runner up Okavango.
Lot 20: Felicity’s Jet f Jet Dark -Flichity By Farr
From the first crop of five time G1 winner Jet Dark, this filly is out of the smart racemare Flichity By Farr. A three-parts sister to South African Triple Crown winner Abashiri, Flichity By Farr earned nearly R1 000 000 in stakes during a career which saw her finish second in all of the G2 SA Oaks, G3 Gold Vase, and G3 Track And Ball Oaks.
Lot 46: f Vercingetorix -Hafla
By reigning champion sire Vercingetorix, this filly is a full-sister to G3 Sea Cottage Stakes winner La Moohal. She is also closely related to the yard’s high-class stakes winners Seehaam (by Vercingetorix) and G1 SA Derby winner Al Sahem (sired by Vercingetorix’s own sire Silvano).
Lot 85: f Kommetdieding -Limpopo River
From the first crop of charismatic July/Met winner Kommetdieding, this filly is out of a full-sister to the yard’s classy but ill-fated charge Zambezi River. She is also a half-sister to G1 Gold Medallion third No Laying Up and hails from the immediate family of unbeaten champion Lammtarra.
Lot 86: Liwa’s Song f Danon Platina -Liwa
By Japanese champion Danon Platina, this filly is a half-sister to two winners, including Listed TAB Spook Express Stakes winner Explosive Bond. Her dam is a winning Trippi half-sister to the yard’s champion Future Pearl as well as the promising filly Sand Script.
Lot 90: Franfrelouche f Rafeef -Love Unlimited
By one of South Africa’s best sires, this filly is a half-sister to seven winners, notably the Tarry yard’s Listed Wilgerbosdrift Acacia Stakes winner Care Forgot. The family of numerous top-class international performers led by leading sires Encosta De Lago, Flying Spur and Holy Roman Emperor.
Lot 191: Cryptogram c Gimmethegreenlight -Secret Obsession
By multiple champion sire Gimmethegreenlight, and from the same female line as Sean’s star sprinter Mythical Flight, this colt is a full-brother to this season’s G2 Cartier Sceptre Stakes winner Gimme What I Want. Out of a stakes-winning daughter of Captain Al, Cryptogram also numbers the graded stakes winners Bunker Hunt and Salvator Mundi as half-brothers.

A colt with a stallion’s pedigree, he is a son of a champion sire out of a G1-winning daughter of a champion sire. His dam, She’s A Keeper, won 8 races with her five black-type wins, including the 2022 G1 Brentford FC Garden Province Stakes, where She’s A Keeper accounted for eventual Horse Of The Year Captain’s Ransom.
Lot 212: Skipping Gadot f The United States -Skipping Gal
By the same sire as the yard’s top-class performers Rodeo Drive and Tin Pan Alley, this filly, a half-sister to two winners, is out of a winning full sister to Listed Irridescence Stakes winner Captain Gambler and half-sister to G3 Winter Derby winner Liquid Mercury.
Lot 219: c The United States -So Flawless
A three-parts brother to the yard’s G2 Mike De Kock Ipi Tombe Challenge winner Rodeo Drive, this colt is out of a G3 winning daughter of champion and increasingly successful sire, Legislate.
Lot 249: f Eden Roc -The Fifth Wave
From the first crop of the yard’s G1 Gold Medallion/G2 Post Merchants hero Eden Roc, this filly is out of a three-time winning half-sister to G2 Betway Ipi Tombe Challenge Stakes winner Gimme A Shot. This is the family of champions Jay Peg and Kochka, among others.

Bred on the same cross as G1 winning sires Master Archie and Thunderstruck, and from one of the best families in the stud book, this filly is a half-sister to 4 winners led by this season’s G2 Anthonij Rupert Premier Trophy winner I Salute You.

This filly is by a champion two-year-old and is a half-sister to another two-year-old champion in the form of the yard’s brilliant filly Mrs Geriatrix. This blue-blooded filly is out of a full sister to G2 winner Prince Of Kahal and half-sister to two other graded stakes winners.

By multiple champion sire Gimmethegreenlight, whose progeny have done so well with the Tarry yard, this colt is a half-brother to G3-winning equine millionaire Mercantour. His dam is a Western Winter half-sister to G2 winner Alderry, the dam of the Tarry trained G1 SA Derby winner Al Sahem.

By champion and five-time G1 winner Hawwaam, this colt is a half-brother to the yard’s smart performer Magic Tattoo. His dam, also hailing from the Tarry yard, won six, including the Listed Off To Stud Stakes, and this is the family of such international G1 winners as Petite Ile and Cherokee Colony.
