First-timers impress at Hollywoodbets Scottsville

The Tarry Yard sent out two first-timers to catch the eye at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday.

Not only did the stable win the Lucky Fish Plinko Maiden Plate race with the well-bred Wild And Free but the yard also saddled the blue-blooded Gimme Sunshine to finish third in the same race.

Three-year-old Wild And Free was given a superb ride by Callan Murray to make a winning debut on Sunday.

A full-brother to G24Racing SA Nursery winner Sheela, Wild And Free jumped out well in Sunday’s 1400m contest.

The flashy son of underrated stallion The United States hit the front 200m from home and kept galloping strongly in the closing stages to win on debut by nearly a length and a quarter.

Bred by Drakenstein Stud, Wild And Free races for L’Ormarins & Friends.

His stablemate Gimme Sunshine, a full-sister to both the Tarry-trained champion Bless My Stars and a multiple graded stakes winner Let’s Go Now, lost many lengths at the start but ran on strongly to finish a good third on debut.
