Ashvendra Wins On Debut

The stable’s charge, Ashvendra, made the perfect start to her career when she made a winning debut on Sunday.
Under a well-judged ride from newly crowned Champion Jockey Craig Zackey, Ashvendra stayed on strongly down the inside of the track to get up and win the Hollywoodbets Scottsville Welcomes You Maiden Plate (1000m) by nearly half a length.
Bred by the Winterbach Stud, Ashvendra races for the ASSM Racing Syndicate. By prominent sire Rafeef, Ashvendra is out of the smart Trippi mare Kilauea, a four-time winner who ran second in both the G2 Camellia Stakes and Listed Syringa Handicap.
Sean Tarry Racing also sent out another promising filly, Quite A Day, to make a pleasing debut when she ran second in the second race on Sunday.
