Mia Moo Impresses In Carry On Alice Win
Sean Tarry Racing enjoyed more feature race success on Betway Summer Cup day when top-class five-year-old Mia Moo swooped to win Saturday’s Listed Blu Voucher Carry On Alice Stakes (1160m).
It was an emotional and fitting win, with Sean having also trained the champion for whom Saturday’s race was named.
Mia Moo put up an impressive performance for her new owners Drakenstein Stud on Saturday.
Despite not having raced since the end of July, and having 61.5kgs on her back, the classy five-year-old roared home, under a good ride from Richard Fourie, to claim Saturday’s Listed race by nearly three-parts of a length.
Bred by Klawervlei Stud (who also bred Carry On Alice!), Mia Moo had shown top-class form last season when she had won all of the G1 South African Fillies Sprint, G2 TAB Camellia Stakes, and G3 4Racing Sycamore Sprint.
The chestnut is a daughter of reigning champion sire Vercingetorix, and Captain Al’s Listed Irridescence Stakes winner Leeward.
A trip to Cape Town is on the cards for the brilliant mare.
