US Success For Celtic Sea
Brilliant champion Celtic Sea, one of the many stars to have graced Sean Tarry Racing’s yard, enjoyed success as a broodmare in North America recently.
The daughter of Captain Al had her first winner when Celtic Sea’s three-year-old son Heading (by Starspangledbanner) romped home to break his maiden by four and a half lengths.
It was a fourth start for Heading, with the latter having begun his career in Britain. Celtic Sea, who raced for Antony and Angela Beck, was covered last season by Oscar Performance.
The Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein bred bay was a superb race mare, with Celtic Sea the Equus Champion 3YO Filly of 2018-2019 and Equus Champion Older Filly/Mare of 2019-2020.
As versatile as she was talented, Celtic Sea won 12 of 27 outings, with her victories including the 2019 G1 Garden Province Stakes (over 1600m) and two runnings of the G2 Cartier Sceptre Stakes.
