Diamond Sparkles In Bauhinia Stakes

The Tarry yard has enjoyed a fine run of success over the past weeks, and Sean and his team struck again at Turffontein on Saturday.

Sean Tarry Racing sent out promising filly Rabble Rouser to make a winning debut on Saturday, with the yard also saddling the very classy Green Diamond to win Saturday’s Bidvest Bauhinia Stakes (1000m).

Both Rabble Rouser and Green Diamond race for owner-breeder Drakenstein Stud, who continue to provide the Tarry yard with tremendous support.

Winner of both the G2 TAB SA Nursery and G3 TAB Protea Stakes last season, three-year-old Green Diamond bounced back from a disappointing Cape campaign with an eye catching win on Saturday.

Under a fine ride from Craig Zackey, the daughter of Gimmethegreenlight powered home from off the pace to win Saturday’s sprint by over a length and three quarters.

Green Diamond, who had worked exceptionally well prior to her Bauhinia victory, is out of the Trippi sired Listed Perfect Promise Sprint winner Lesedi La Rona.

Her stablemate Rabble Rouser did well to win Saturday’s Aquazania Maiden Plate (1160m) against male rivals, with the filly playing up in the starting stalls after her saddle slipped.

Under Keagan De Melo, the three-year-old daughter of Rafeef was always prominent in Saturday’s contest and kept finding gamely to win by a length, despite being expected to improve over more ground.

Out of the Philanthropist mare Shout Out Loud (a full-sister to high-class Hong Kong galloper Singapore Sling), Rabble Rouser is a half-sister to Listed Stormsvlei Stakes winner Beware The Bomb.
