Fillies Score At The Vaal
Sean Tarry Racing’s great run of form continued at the Vaal on Thursday.
The stable sent out a trio of fillies to win on Thursday, with two-year-old Secret Fate putting up a particularly impressive performance.
Making her racecourse debut, the Drakenstein Stud bred and owned Secret Fate turned the 4Racing Welcomes You Maiden Juvenile Plate (1400m) into a one-horse race.
Under Keagan De Melo, Secret Fate defied a slightly slow start when romping away to win as she liked by five and a quarter lengths.
The filly is certainly bred to be above average, with Secret Fate a daughter of Master Of My Fate and G2 SA Oaks winner Secret Potion.
The Tarry yard sent out another promising filly, in the form of Miss Fantastic, to win the third race on Thursday.
Another ridden to victory by Keagan de Melo, the three-year-old Miss Fantastic had finished third on her only previous start.
The daughter of Rafeef overcame a break when flying up late to get up close to home and win the RacingToday Maiden Plate (F and M) (1200m) by a neck.
Bred by Owloon Horses, Miss Fantastic is owned by Messrs Dayalan Chinsammy, D Jessa, Aden Lahoud, Jarryd Lahoud, E Naicker & TKP Racing.
Serino Moodley rode an outstanding race when he brought the Tarry yard’s Top Shelf Teddy to win the seventh race.
Serino brought the Master Of My Fate filly home with a perfectly timed challenge which saw Top Shelf Teddy get up in the shadow of the post and win by a neck.
Dropping in class and on a trip for Thursday’s race, Top Shelf Teddy was winning for a second time in her career. Owned by the ASSM Racing Syndicate, Top Shelf Teddy is a full sister to the stakes-placed Peut Etre Moi.
