Fillies Star At The Vaal

Sean Tarry Racing has been in great form of late, and the yard enjoyed further success at the Vaal on Thursday.
Not only did the stable send out Magic Carpet Ride to win the fourth race on Thursday, but they also saddled her stablemate Lovable to win the sixth race.

Both horses were partnered to victory by Keagan De Melo, with the latter taking his tally to over 100 wins for the season on Thursday. Coincidentally, the Tarry Yard were also celebrating their 100th win for the season.

Always prominent in Thursday’s For Hospitality Bookings Call 011 681 1796 MR 66 Handicap (1000m); the well-bred four-year-old, a daughter of Sean’s former star Willow Magic, kept going gallantly in the closing stages and went on to win by a long neck.

Bred by Bush Hill Stud, Magic Carpet Ride (a full sister to the G1-winning sire MK’s Pride) is owned by Messrs Jarryd Lahoud, Aden Lahoud, Larry Pogir, Cliff Simaan, Craig Zoghby, Gary Citron, Mark Currie and Kenny Govender.

Well-bred filly Lovable made it win number two from six starts when victorious in the Play Soccer 6, 10 And 13 FM 76 Divided Handicap (1000m). A drop-back trip seemed to help Lovable.
The daughter of Rafeef and speedy stakes winner Kissable stormed home to get up close to home and win by three-parts of a length.

Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, Lovable races for Dayalan Chinsammy, Aden Lahoud, Jarryd Lahoud, TKP Racing and the Wernars Family.
