Trail Runner and Cronus win at the Vaal
Fresh off enjoying feature race success at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday, the Tarry yard struck again when the stable sent out a pair of winners at the Vaal on Monday.
Monday’s Work Riders Day saw both Trail Runner and Cronus salute for Sean and his yard.
Under Sam Mosia, four-year-old Trail Runner showed plenty of courage in winning Monday’s TAB Telebet 0861 000 822 Work Riders Classified Stakes.
The well-weighted filly had to work for victory, with Trail Runner digging down gamely to score by a head.
A daughter of Lancaster Bomber, the Lammerskraal Stud-bred Trail Runner races for her breeder in partnership with Dr Adrian Schmidt.
Cronus broke his maiden when he ran on strongly to claim the #Youcanbetonus! Work Riders Maiden Plate (1700m).
Under a well-judged ride from P Mlangeni, the Flower Alley gelding came with a late rattle to win convincingly by nearly a length and a half.
The four-year-old was trying the 1700m trip for the first time on Monday.
