Gerbera -oh so game!
The Tarry stable has been in cracking form of late, and the yard enjoyed yet more feature race success at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday.
Sean and his team sent out gutsy four-year-old Gerbera to score her biggest win when claiming Saturday’s Listed The Independent On Saturday Insider East Coast Cup (2000m).
Under a well-judged ride from Craig Zackey, Gerbera raced well off the pace in Saturday’s contest.
Craig brought his mount with a well-timed challenge, hitting the front 100m from home, and the pair stayed on well to score by a neck.
Less than a length separated the first five home. It was a courageous effort from Gerbera, with the filly having to overcome notable interference in running.
Bred and owned by Drakenstein Stud, Gerbera is a filly by One World out of the Western Winter mare Barberton Daisy.
The fitting of cheekpieces has aided Gerbera, with the filly having caught the eye on her previous start.
